The reception party on the first day we visited Wagna Dega Nasiri School.
The Head Teacher. with St Lucia’s travelling doll, Muletta and piles of new reference books we had purchased.
In 2014 the whole school was waiting for us to arrive, and gave a very warm welcome in appreciation of new desks and radio we provided.
Teachers play volleyball with the new net we brought them. The staff live at the school, in very basic surroundings. We want to help teachers as well as children.
St Lucia’s Primary School,
Upton Magna
St Lucia’s Primary School in Upton Magna has supported Wagna Dega Nasiri school for 3 years.
They have held a wide range of fund-raising events, often organized exclusively by the children. These have included selling cakes, running a Fun Day, hosting our charity stalls and collecting at church services and sports days.
Individual children took part in a sponsored bike ride. In the summer term 2015 some of the pupils learned some Morris dances to perform at the village fete and helped raised lots of money.
Wagna Dega Nasirii School has been helped with desks, new blackboards, a special radio, books, bookshelves and other educational materials.
